Project Description

Inca Paradise Collection is a set of designs based on photographs I took throughout a solo trip in my home country, Peru. I was inspired by the resilience of the indigenous people, the bright colours used on their traditional clothing, the local botanicals and my adventures in the Amazon jungle. In some patterns I have incorporated the “chakana” which is the Inca Cross symbolizing three levels of existence. The affirmations in relation to this symbol are: I live, I work, I love. The related behaviours are: don’t lie, don’t steal and don’t be lazy. The symbolism of the Inca Cross inspired me to create designs that invoke the excitement of vast possibility that I experienced in Peru.
